After two years of captivity, Libya Dawn (a grouping of terrorists and pro-Islamist militias mostly from Misrata) has killed the UAE citizen Yousuf Saqer Ahmed Mubarak Welayti who was arrested in November 2015 at Mitiga Airport on his way to the departure gate by forces of Libya Dawn on suspicion of espionage against Libya claiming that they found photographs of sensitive sites on his phone, including the embassy of Turkey in Tripoli and the Libyan supreme court.

It is not known why they searched his mobile phone in the first place and are these places really sensitive? and was he the only person who took pictures or videos of theses places? How is this even considered to be espionage in any way? These questions remain to be answered by the authorities in Libya.

Libyan sources in Tripoli have confirmed that the killer is called Souliman Mohammed Ahmed al-Turki and works as a security member of the Libyan embassy in Uganda. His uncle al-Sadek al-Turki is the superintendent of the prison where Mr. Welayti was detained. The killer with the help of an armed group forced his way into the prison, taking advantage of his relationship to the prison superintendent and took Mr. Welayti from the prison and murdered him with cold blood on the seashore and threw his body in the street. It is worth mentioning here that al-Turki tribe is from Misrata city.

The body was found in the one of the streets in morning by a passerby. Officials have given no explanation for the incident, and provided no further details. During the two years of abduction, Mr. Welayti was never charged or tried and was never allowed access to a lawyer.

The video below shows him entering the airport peacefully and checking his passport and then on his way to the departure gate he was stopped and arrested based on his nationality without checking his mobile phone as they claimed. He was found dead on one of the streets in Tripoli. Another example of human rights violations committed by the rebels in Libya.
